Cloaked in Wisdom, opens at the Visions Museum of Textile Art
San Diego, CA on Saturday, November 12
An opening reception and artist talk at 2PM
“The Wisdom Cloak series is a tribute to the accumulated knowledge, experience and maturity of women, so often unrecognized and rarely celebrated. A primitive needle is sewn into each cloak to honor the generations of women who have gone before us, stitching paths to a world of strength and beauty.”
Finder and Keeper is the first of the Wisdom Cloaks. This piece speaks of the deep and abiding wisdom of women, the knowledge and experience that leads us to find and keep what is important and hold fast to the things that matter.
If you are in the San Diego area, the exhibit will continue through December 31. I look forward to meeting many fiber people at the opening. Twelve of the cloaks from the series will be on view. You can access a free digital copy of a catalog of the works by clicking the MagCloud link below, or order a paper copy.
